A judge is set to hear arguments Thursday in the case of a Black Texas teen accusing his school district of violating the state's CROWN Act by punishing him for his hairstyle. The CROWN Act, which took effect in September, prohibits race-based hair discrimination and bars employers and schools from penalizing people because of hair texture or protective hairstyles.
