When he was just 14 years old, Willie’s creative drive and ambitious dreams inspired him to launch wetheurban (We The Urban), an online community that initially started as a blog of everything he deemed cool and quickly developed into a global phenomenon of self-expression. ⚡️⁣
 ⁣
“I realized at a really early age that the internet can be used as a tool to fuel creativity. Social media became my window and stage, a vast world where I could build my voice and find my community,” says Willie. “Yet in this digital age, where my words echo across screens to millions, I wrestle with the strangest paradox: the feeling of having my voice be a beacon to the modern world, yet feeling profound loneliness at times.”⁣
 ⁣
After over a decade of curating and uplifting others’ work, Willie is learning to embrace that feeling of loneliness and is turning it into a place of solace. “I’ve discovered the most intimate community of love there is — the one within me, a sacred space where I am both the thinker and the observer. And now I see just how much power there is in the world seeing me, this Black kid from the south who came from parents from humble beginnings, as the one inspiring them. I deserve to be here, I deserve to be seen. And people like me deserve to be in this space.” 💫⁣
