Yiling moved to Australia in 2015, with work experience across telecommunications and advertising. But deep down, she always felt she could do something more meaningful that would also give her the opportunity to give back to the community. ⁣

She found her answer in an unexpected place - Victoria Police. ⁣
⁣
After spotting Victoria Police at a career expo, she quickly learned that the role of a Police Custody Officer (PCO) was her calling. Why? Because it matched her career goals. ⁣
⁣
PCOs are valued members of the local police team and play a crucial role in the management and welfare of persons in custody. Despite working in a male-dominated industry, Yiling is not one to let gender limit what she does. ⁣
⁣
“Do your job well, then you will be valued and included in the team.” ⁣
⁣
She encourages women who may be considering a role in policing to be confident and to know that you are more capable for the job than you think.⁣
⁣
