Thomas Kilroy ‘24 is a natural salesman, and he knows it.

The junior is a Business Administration major with a concentration in Marketing, and has double minors in History and Sports Communication. For a long time, sales and marketing have been a part of Kilroy’s passion, starting early on for him.
“I just started picking stuff up and selling it, it was absolutely a calling,” he said, grinning.

When asked about what he loves about being in business, Kilroy said, “I love the professionalism of it all. It feels so serious and sincere, and I’m not someone who doesn’t like to do things seriously. I take everything seriously and that’s what I like about business.”

Now, at Marist, Kilroy is currently looking for internships, but he has his future planned out in detail. His dream career? Working sales and marketing for any sports team, and building his way up to the big leagues.

“5 years out, I want to be working for a company big or small, I do want to start small and work my way up. But I don’t want to be anywhere near this state, I want to be in Florida. In terms of career, I want to work for a sports team. I want to do marketing and sales, whether that be tickets or advertising.”

Kilroy concluded by giving very straight-forward advice to anyone who wants to succeed in the business world: “Get involved. That’s my advice to you, go talk to people, do not be afraid to get involved. I’m not afraid to talk to people, I don’t think people are as willing to talk as much as I am, but I’d say don’t be shy and get involved.”
