As of press time, Arreguín leads the pack with 17,696 votes, followed by Oakland City Councilmember Dan Kalb with 9,645 votes. The rest of the candidates — Jovanka Beckles, Kathryn Lybarger, Jeanne Solnordal and Sandré Swanson — while short of the second-place runoff spot, are currently within 4% of Kalb. Only 78,381 ballots have been counted in Alameda County as of press time, or 8% of total registered voters, and results will not be officially certified until April 12, according to the California Secretary of State.
