All over the world, women are rising up to protect their communities, livelihoods, and the planet for everyone. Meet Maty Ndao, the president of the women fish processors at the Cayar processing site, in Senegal. She is fighting against the over-exploitation of fishery resources and a fishmeal factory set up in their locality.⁣

Ndao is one of the people who have taken the factory to court. She believes that the factory is polluting the environment and encouraging the over-exploitation of fish stocks, and would like the plant to be closed down and put an end to this injustice.⁣
