The 120kg class at Classic Nationals will witness a fierce battle between high-level competitors who have yet to step foot on the PA national stage. Here are the best recent totals of the top nominees:

Bobb Matthews 960kg (2,116lbs)
Devin Williams 950.5kg (2,095lbs)
Richard Andre 922.5kg (2,033lbs)

First up, we have Andre as the top pick to walk away with the bronze medal. He has only been competing for some three years but is looking to have a strong showing at his first Nationals. He put up a 922.5kg PR total back in October, albeit while weighing over the 120kg class. He has a relatively small cut to make but will need to keep his strength in order to fend off other competitors hoping to steal his podium placing and possibly move up in the rankings.

Next we have Williams, who is nominated within 10kg of the top spot. He broke onto the scene within the past year by putting up a 950.5kg PR total, nearly 50kg over what he had done previously. This was done in the weight class above, but within cutting distance. He has a massive bench press with a best of 255.5kg and may be looking to take the national bench record of 253kg, giving him an edge over the competition.

Matthews sits at the top of the nominations and looks to be the favorite, even though he is the newcomer to this weight class. He competed at the Texas Fall Championships this past November and put up a relatively comfortable 952.5kg total while weighing in just a couple of kilos over the 105kg class. Both Matthews and Williams could plausibly go over the total world record of 978.5kg, which has not been officially broken since 2016.

Who will come out on top in this tight match and snag a ticket to their first World Championships? Tune in on Saturday, March 16 on the sbdapparel YouTube page to find out.
