1️⃣Have fun where you are: Enjoy where you currently are, whether that’s High School, JUCO, D2, D3, or NAIA. Do miss out on the present moments stressing about the future. 
2️⃣Put up numbers: Track is one of the only sports where numbers don’t lie. Control what you can control and put up your best performances possible and do it consistently. What numbers coaches are looking for vary on the school and conference.
3️⃣ Research schools that fit you: Find a school you would vibe with academically and athletically. Don’t compromise your major. See where your numbers would rank among the team and the conference. Having leverage is one of the biggest assets to an athlete. 
4️⃣ Reach out to coaches: Sometimes you can fly under the radar and a coach can overlook your name, but reaching out to them is the best way to assure your name comes across their desk. Send a message to EVERYONE on the staff directory. Don’t be afraid to shoot your shot.
