What's the craziest thing I've ever done? A 100 miles in under 24 hours on a treadmill is definitely on top of my list😂. 

A little #throwback to when I ran a 100 miles on a treadmill.  Why? I'd been training for Umstead 100 miler at the time the pandemic hit and everything shut down. I couldn't let that fitness go to waste, so I opted for a treadmill 100 miler. I'd also be the first amputee to run a 100 miler on a treadmill so I definitely couldn't resist. 

The funny thing is my treadmill was old and cheap. we bought it on sale, nothing fancy so I wasn't sure if it would even last a 100 miles. The most I'd run on it was 10 miles. Would it switch off after 3 hours was the number one question I was asked and one we had to ask Nordictrack. Luckily for me because it was an older model it didn't switch off. Amazingly it kept going. The motor got a little hot, but it did well. 

My treadmill was set up in a small room we used as a fitness area with a cardboard box in the corner for my aid station (see third photo). My kids and husband would check in on me every few hours to see if I needed anything and my kids would tell me to run faster🤦😂. A totally professional setup, not😂. 

What did I watch on TV was the next most popular question.
The entire season of Dexter, Greys Anatomy, Formula One when my husband was in the room and "How to train your dragon" and "Ice Age" when my kiddos were in the room 😂.

So happy this could inspire other amputees to go after this record.
