NEAR Protocol: is a competitive layer 1 blockchain that uses sharding technology to achieve scalability. It aims to incentivize a network of computers to operate a platform where developers launch decentralized apps using Proof of Stake (PoS). Near has an app called Rainbow Bridge that allows users to easily transfer Ethereum tokens between Ethereum. Near protocol uses its native token, NEAR, to allow users to pay transaction fees, run apps, transfer wrapped tokens, transfer NFTs, and pay for storage. The rainbow bridge is fully permissionless and decentralized.
