We are debt-free!!!

Baby Step #2 of Financial Peace University ✅

In the fall of 2020, my husband, Justin, and I started having serious conversations about our future and how we wanted being debt-free to become a reality for us. We knew we wanted to make a change for our family and for the future of our family.

Justin and I led a Financial Peace University class (second time completing the class for us both) last fall and it was the refresher we needed. We followed a strict budget, cut back on eating out and buying Starbucks, had a yard sale, sold clothes at Plato’s Closet and Uptown Cheapskate, and Justin worked various side gigs to reach our goal of becoming debt-free even sooner.

Getting to pay off our last and final credit card in January 2021 was the motivation we needed to press on with paying off other debts for the next 8 months. The freedom we found with telling our money where to go rather than letting it control us has made for easier conversations in our marriage when it came to finances. It takes dedication, hard work, and patience, but I can promise you that it is worth it in the end.

We are so grateful for God’s direction during this journey. We hope our story can encourage others just as we had dear friends who motivated us through their financial peace journey. We especially thank daveramsey and the team at Ramsey Solutions in paving the way for our family.
