Last February, Pastor Vistine gave an incredible sermon on debt. He explained how people tend to fall into the debt trap and as a result, are not able to give or tithe as much as they’d like. It was an eye opener for me and shorty after, I discovered Dave Ramsey and the amazing #debtfreecommunity on Instagram. I have always known credit cards are bad and I got rid of those a long time ago 🙅🏻‍♀️ but I had one remaining consumer debt: my car.
I immediately went #gazelleintense on paying off my car but in May of 2020, I was laid off from my job due to the pandemic. It felt like a setback and that season was a hard one for me, but God is so so faithful. He knows our hearts & desires! Late last year, He blessed me with not only 1, but 3 new jobs! I have been diligently working these 3 jobs for the past 7 months and today I was able to pay off my car note 2 years early, almost to the exact date! (All while still saving for our wedding) 100% of the payments were made by me and it feels so good to know that I now OWN my car 🎉
p.s. I highly recommend reading the book “The Total Money Makover” by Dave Ramsey. Such a good book!
