Holy cow, we did it y’all!! 🥳

In 2019, my husband and I made the decision to leave his job, one that paid very well, but one that robbed us of family time. The new job turned out to be a much better fit, but it came with a pretty significant pay decrease. Like most people, that scared us and had us wondering how we were going to make it work.

We pretty quickly figured out we were going to have to make some changes in regards to our spending habits. We had both been fans of Dave Ramsey and the Baby Step Method, but had never made the decision to hunker down and try it out. It was apparent that the way we dreamed of living wasn’t going to be possible while we were slaves to our lenders! So, In January 2020, armed with our new budget and a whole lot of faith, we started paying off our debt. Once we got the (snow)ball rolling, we were hooked! We became #gazelleintense and started trying to figure out how we could cut costs and have even MORE money to put toward debt payoff. We got rid of our home Internet, we canceled our trash pick up and started making weekly trips to our local dump, and we sold junk that had been lying around in order to make extra payments. We even gave ourselves an allowance 😳 which really cut down on all of the excess, random expenses. We truly started living like no one else so we could live like no one else!

Fast forward to one year later… We have officially paid off all of our debt! Man - it feels so good to say that. It’s so FREEING! We are so proud of the the sacrifices that we made, and what this now means for our family. We can take that vacation. We can buy something off of our “dream list”. We can help those in need. We can do it all with CASH instead of going even more into debt for it. Most importantly, we don’t have to be driven by money and the need to have so much of it in order to live.

Our hope is to inspire others so that they can one day soon be in this position! You can do it!!
