WE ARE DEBT FREEE!!!! For those of you who have been following our journey for the any length of time, you know what a big deal this is. Thanks to the self-quarantine and social distancing, this will be our debt free scream for the moment (though as soon as it’s safe, we’re comin’ for ya, Nashville 😉). You have no idea how long we’ve waited for this day, and to be honest we thought it would take us a lot longer, but praise our Lord and Savior, He just provided for us every step of the way, and HERE 👏🏻 WE 👏🏻 ARE. •
Our journey started in 2018 when we were paycheck to paycheck, sometimes using what little savings we had to get through the month. With that #minorleaguelife it is no joke how much of a grind it is (especially financially!) When my husband came home that off season, I had enough (sick and tired of being sick and tired) and my brother and his wife told us about this guy daveramsey and his book, The Total Money Makeover. I read it right away and handed it off to Travis, and within a couple weeks we signed up for Financial Peace University class at our church. •
FPU changed our perspective on money, our conversations around money, and our ability to work as a team toward our financial goals. I found out that I’m a nerd about budget meetings, and we both became gazelle intense. This past off-season we moved in with some really gracious friends, sacrificed a lot, and said no to even more. We became the weird people Dave talks about, but we have no regrets. We started our journey November 2018, and 17 months later (including a pause during baseball season), multiple jobs, two moves, and a lot of delayed gratification, 27k gone, we are debt free and never going back. I have a paid-for Masters degree for the first time ever, and we own both our cars 🙌🏻

This is just the beginning, and we are so grateful for the work Dave does, teaching people to be good stewards with the money God gives them. Next step, emergency fund 🙌🏻🙌🏻
