𝐈 𝐀𝐌 𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘 𝐃𝐄𝐁𝐓 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄!!! Paying off student loans is NO JOKE! I graduated with my masters degree May of 2018 with $70,000 of debt, and began my minimal payment ($358) towards my loans with my first job which started in July 2018. .
In November of 2018, I got a new job, my first “real job” using my degree, and started my #debtfreejourney by paying $3,000 a month. My commute is about an hour, so money management podcasts like daveramsey were constant. As of TODAY, January 29 2020, I am FREEEEEE!!!!!🙌🏼 .
During my debt-free journey I:
🏠lived with my parents-though this wasn’t necessarily ideal as a 24 year old, I was able to pay about a $1,000 extra towards loans. Thanks so much mom and dad! (& this weekend I’m moving out🙌🏼) -
🚘I avoided the toll way-my first month I used the tollway and my bill was $300🙃 It took a few days to adjust to the longer drive and the stop lights, but it saved me so much money! .
✈️I traveled-on a budget! I only bought plane tickets that were on sale for under $100. So I planned my trips around the flights (excluding NY, that was a splurge trip🤷🏼‍♀️) .
💪🏼 I worked on my physical and mental health-I kept my body and mind healthy so I was able to go-go-go! (Had a few mental breakdowns along the way). I also thanked a lot of people who helped me. There is no possible way I would have done it without my family! .
Moral of the story. LOANS ARE SATAN!!!👺Also, you CAN do it too!!! I hope whoever is out there & feels like they are drowning in debt, plan out the adjustments you need to make using debtfreecharts and DO THE DANG THING!👊🏼 #mydebtfreejourney #debtfreecommunity #debtfreescream
