I’M DEBT FREEEEEEE!!!!!! $84,000 in 30 months! What a journey it has been! Most of you know that I have been aggressively paying off my student loans for the last two and a half years and now I am done! I can’t thank everyone around me enough who thought I was crazy but supported me anyways! This has been a huge goal for me and have learned so much through the process. Big shout out to daveramsey for the plan. My brother-in-law gave me his book for Christmas in 2015. I spent all of 2016 reading the book and listening to his podcast every day while sitting at my desk at Humana. On January 1, 2017 I made the decision, as a 24-year-old, that the biggest blessing I could give my future spouse, and my future kids, was to get rid of the heaviest burden in my life. This burden is what led me to Jesus along with years of prayers from my sister and I feel so humbled to accomplish a goal that seemed so crazy and far out. With a new job in 2017 that allowed me attack this debt with full force, I was on fire to get it done. It took small disciplines like not buying subscriptions such as Netflix, Pandora, or Spotify (which was tough because I was in my car about 6 hours a day for work… aka lots and lots of commercials to keep me reminded of my goal) and some bigger disciplines that seemed normal for people at my stage in life such as buying a house (although this one I was very tempted to do!) God protected me and blessed me along the way and today I can confidently say that with His help, this has been the biggest accomplishment of my life! It has allowed me to move away from that job and begin full time photography! On to bigger and better goals! Too excited for the future!
