Glory Hallelujah!! Today I officially paid off my last debt!! 🙌🏼 For the first time in my entire adult life, I HAVE NO DEBT!!! 🎉

For those who saw my New Year’s post, I set the goal of paying off my student loans in 2019. Shortly afterwards my parents called and told me they wanted to help by taking care of one of the two remaining loans. 😭💗💗💗 You wanna talk about the ugliest ugly cry in the history of ugly cries when I got that phone call, I am SO grateful for them!

My last student loan was $9,017 and I went into ATTACK MODE. 🐅 Every dollar I could squeeze has been thrown at this debt and I am proud to say that I paid it all off in 15 weeks!! 😅
.
With the help of daveramsey and by the grace of God I feel like I’ve gotten control of my finances and am on my way to total financial peace.
.
As of today I don’t owe NO ONE NOTHIN’. No credit card debt, no car loan, no student loans, no ANY loan! I know, I’m weird. 👽
.
So what is “normal?” Normal is 8 out of 10 Americans living paycheck to paycheck. Normal is swiping credit cards and racking up debt. Normal is living above your means instead of living within them. Normal is assuming that student loans and car payments are just a part of life. NORMAL IS BROKE.
.
Did you know that financial stress is the #1 cause of stress in Americans and that it’s been linked to high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, AND it’s also one of the leading causes of divorce? 😳
.
Alternatively, a connection has been found between financial security and the ability to find meaning in life. When you’re not worried about money, the world looks a lot different. 🌈
.
Yea, I’m SO glad I’m weird. 😁
.
Next steps will be beefing up my emergency fund, investing 15% of my income into retirement, and saving up for a new car that I plan to buy with cash. Yes, you read that right. CASH. 💰
.
Now for the moment I’ve been waiting for, my debt free scream...
