TODAY marks my 1 year anniversary from the START of my debt freedom journey!!! $54,542.43 PAID OFF IN 12 MONTHS!!! I needed to work out today, so I thought, “How fitting to tie in the endurance, power, and focus needed to be successful on a physical track to that of working toward and/or achieving ANY goal!” Like this picture, enduring to this point required heat, sweat, caused fatigue, but it’s been worth it! I have a ways to go still but I’m moving, LAP BY LAP. NO MORE EXCUSES.

THIS IS HOW I DID IT: (1) I’m educated with a doctorate degree but was completely drowning in debt; living paycheck to paycheck (2) My dad passed away last year and my financial inability to contribute adequately to his memorial service was the last straw (3) I made a decision that I would no longer carry my poor money management behaviors to my children so that they could struggle to bury me (4) I cut up ALL credit cards and began to live on a zero based budget (5) I prioritized NEED based living expenditures and cut out all wants (6) I picked up extra shifts at my job, working 6 days/week for the last 7 months (7) No, I don’t make 6 figures but I started to live on half of my income and contributed the rest to debt (8)I sold my luxury Audi Q5 on Valentine’s day and rode the bus for 2 months until I saved enough money to purchase a used car CASH (9) The desire to get out of debt is exactly that, a desire; but to do it takes ACTION (10) You can do this too. If you’re reading this, it’s for a reason. I learned that the actions of a KING or QUEEN are to REIGN, and that’s exactly what I plan to do from now on. .
