Yesterday, I celebrated a big financial achievement—paying off my student loan debt!!

Between undergraduate and graduate school, I accumulated $81,837😳in student loan debt (9 federal loans, 2 private loans). In 2014, I became passionate about financial literacy with hopes of one day achieving financial freedom and securing a healthier financial future. After taking a personal finance class in graduate school, I set a goal of not only paying off my debt, but also building wealth. This journey has taught me a lot about myself and reshaped my perception of my finances.

Last year, I started and IG page (atyourbestfinance) with the hopes of encouraging others to live their best lives... financially, of course.  While we’re going about our lives doing amazing things such as traveling, buying homes, planning weddings, and starting families, I hope we add our financial goals to the conversation, and leave a financial legacy for our future.

Remember, no effort is too small!  Although today I celebrate this accomplishment, it took 4 years of consistently living below my means and making personal sacrifices, but the freedom it affords me has made it all worth it.

Big shoutout to my parents, family and close friends who have been super supportive over the years. Ya’ll know how bad I wanted this!❤
