I have waited so long to be able to post this! My #debtfreejourney has taken far longer than I wanted it too, but I finally finished...I'm debt free!!!! For years I had been gradually plugging away at my debt. I did a budget, I did the debt snowball, but I never planned an end date. Last August I heard a debt free scream while listening to daveramsey. The couple went to a church in Louisville Kentucky and their pastor preached a sermon on debt and challenged the congregation to be debt free by August 2018. I sat down and looked at my own financial situation. I realized if I truly cut back more and went all in I could achieve this challenge. The date felt meant to be. I drained my savings account, completed no spend months, and threw any extra money I could find at my debt. I was blessed more than I imagined and was able to pay off my debt April 27, 2018, the day before my golden birthday. I'm forever grateful for my friends and family who supported me and encouraged me. I'm currently sitting on cloud 9.
