Imperfect pictures for an imperfect family 😂 We did it. We paid off ALL of our debt. Over $87,000 gone. No more student loans, no more car payments, no more credit cards. We paid off the couch, cell phones, and all of the other stupid stuff we thought it was ok to finance. Amazing what God can guide you through when you trust Him. This journey has been so intense. We sacrificed. We were disciplined. We learned to love our life and not envy or lust after what others have. We operated within the boundaries of our budget. For me, this means so much. I grew up in affordable housing, a child whose parents would borrow from Peter to pay Paul. We owned nothing, and owed everybody. Living paycheck to paycheck was all I knew. I thought it was normal to not be able to pay your bills and thought I would always have debt. I never knew that being debt-free could be a way of life. My husband was determined to be a good steward of God’s money. For him, it means being grateful and content with the things you have. The borrower is slave to the lender and we will never be in financial bondage again. Our future is bright and full of hope. Now we can save, build wealth, and give more than ever. Ezekiel’s quality of life will be a lot different than ours was. He will never know the type of stress that financial debt can bring on a family. Our next big goal is to purchase a house in cash and we will achieve that by taking one baby step at a time.
