Cool Story... So we’ve always had dynamic outfielders and as a coach I absolutely love the position and when players own it! The kid in this video is flat out one of the best! Her jumps on balls are the best period! Cool part of the story is as we played year after year in travel she was the only player on the team that said she didn’t want to play in college. She was an amazing player in travel and high school so we didn’t understand why she didn’t want to play in college. So fast forward to her team’s last year in travel and right before we went dark for high school, she says out of the blue she wants to play in college. We were shocked! When we asked why, she said because she would miss these people (meaning her softball family). A few months later she ends up tearing her knee up ACL MCL etc and misses last season of travel and freshman season of college. She works hard doesn’t quit even though most people would have after something like that and rehabs her knee comebacks to her team is named the starting RF and leadoff batter after getting off to an amazing start. Then the season is cut short by this pandemic, but yet she is still working hard as you can see in the video. Yes she is a great ball player that is a terror at the plate lefty hitter with gap power and eats up that 5/6 hole which we call her bread and butter. She is an amazing bunter and has  the best push bunt ever. Her in game speed is remarkable you see it on the bases and in the OF. However besides all of the stuff she can do on the field, she is an even more amazing person! Meet #44 an OG  Maddie “Fergie” Ferguson!
