“Thus says the LORD who made the earth, the LORD who formed it to establish it– YHWH is his name: Call to me and I will answer you, and tell you of great and hidden things that you have not known.” -Jeremiah 33:2-3

Think of the most dependable person you know, are they literally always available? Are they so dependable that they answer every beck and call? No, people will always fail, there’s nothing we can do to be perfect. There is one who is perfect, who we can turn to. You can come to the Father with anything and everything all the time. He wants to listen; he wants to hear from you. He will tell us of great and hidden things, of things we need to hear. Of comfort, support, love, peace. There is nothing we can’t bring to the Father, he knows all, and he knows your heart. But more importantly is the character of God, he is a loving God, he wants to listen and answer you. He wants to be present with us. The LORD who made the world and all that’s in it– who established it, gave it purpose and deliberately made everything and everyone uniquely– waits to hear from us. How wondrous is that? That so great a God wants to hear from his children. Not only that, but he will answer you. Now, his answer will not come on our timeline, nor will it be as we imagine it, but it will be good. God answers, and that is the truth. The fact is that we so often want God to submit to how we want things to go. We do not know all, we have not known many things. Therefore when God says he will tell us of great and hidden things, do not demand him to follow you. Rather, submit yourselves and be humble to hear from your LORD.
