## Caption

“I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.” -Ezekiel 36:25-27

God has cleansed us from our sinfulness. It is not from anything that we could do; it is only through the death of Christ that we live. As God said to Ezekiel, he will cleanse us, he will give a new heart, he will put in a new spirit, he will remove our hardened hearts and give us a new one, he will give us his Spirit. We don’t do anything here other than be open to the mercy and grace of God. The Lord has appointed these things, and the Lord will see them through. Lean on him for all things. Let God the Almighty work, to reign in your life, to do good work in your life. While this often means that things don’t work out how you imagined, it truly is for the better. God does things that we neither see or understand, and he works all things out for his glory. Sometimes you will go through hard times simply because you aren’t following the Lord’s commands. Because we are fallen, we will continue to sin and it is those choices that go against God that will cause him to go against us. There is hope! God has worked for us, he has given us new hearts and new spirits; he has given us the Holy Spirit who will cause us to follow him. Through the Holy Spirit we desire to follow God’s commands, to obey and glorify him, to do good works.
