“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone.” -Isaiah 9:2

The God who paints the sky and molds the mountains seeks us as a Father and Counselor, having all power and granting peace. He, the Lord Jesus, is the light of life and shines brightly in the darkness we experience. The Prince of Peace provides peace when we are anxious. Jesus is always present, he has not and will not forsake you. All you simply must do is turn to him and receive peace. Trust him that he is there, know that he is and wants to give you peace and joy. Think about your life, remember what God has already done in your life. The God that walked with Adam and Eve is the God that guided the apostles, this God is the same God that is here today. God has always fought for us and granted us peace in him. The greatness of God’s power, love, and mercy is best displayed when we are at our weakest; at this peak, God can move what no one and no thing can. We have an everlasting father, who is in Heaven. He is waiting for our return not with crossed arms to punish us for our sins, but with open arms to receive and comfort us. While obedience is important, the Father wants to intimately know us. Us, sinners who turned our faces away from the God of the universe, who do not deserve anything. Jesus is a wonderful counselor, he knows what we are struggling with, he is infinitely wise and is guiding us if only we would listen. He knows what is best for us, he knows what will draw us out of darkness, and that is following him, listening to his guidance as he shines his great light. Would we remember these names of Jesus, these attributes and truths.
