Video by @joelsartore | Payara tetra are found in the tropical waters of the Amazon Basin. The fish are born with gaps in their upper jaw to accommodate razor-sharp fangs that can reach up to six inches (15 cm). They’re designed to kill prey, which is why this species is often referred to as vampire tetra. Video taken @greatlakesaquarium.
