Photos by Pete McBride pedromcbride / For many remote villages in Bhutan, the only delivery options are yak trains or horses, like the team crossing the Paro River in the second image. I made these images while documenting and traversing the Snowman Trek, a 230-mile (370 km) historic trade route along the Bhutanese and Tibetan border. I've spent years sweating and gasping my way to high-elevation vistas like these—because hard-earned images always mean more.
