It’s incredible how tiny space pebbles create such a brilliant display, some 100 km (60 mi) above us, as they crash into Earth's atmosphere. Night sky photographer babaktafreshi recorded these on video using a fast 35mm f1.2 lens. The next Perseid meteor shower is on August 12. If the moon is absent and you're away from light pollution, you may see up to 100 meteors per hour at the peak time: early morning on August 12 in the Americas, near midnight in Europe and Africa, and after midnight to the morning of the 13th across Asia and Oceania. #meteorshower #perseids #twanight
