bertiegregory captured a female harp seal sleeping during a snowstorm in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, Quebec, Canada. During particularly cold periods, these seals must use their sharp claws to ensure the breathing holes in the ice do not freeze up. Shortly after getting out of the water and onto the ice, their whiskers often freeze, giving this comical appearance.
