Happy #BlackHistoryMonth! This February, we’re paying tribute to the remarkable African Americans who have left a mark on the transportation industry. Let’s honor these trailblazers who’ve shaped the course of transportation history. 👇

Garrett Morgan, aka the “Father of Transportation Technology,” revolutionized road safety with his invention of the traffic signal in 1923, making our roads safer to navigate. 🚦

Frederick McKinley Jones, a true pioneer, transformed the way we transport food globally by inventing the mechanical transport refrigeration unit. His groundbreaking creation earned him the National Medal of Technology in 1991, a testament to his lasting impact. 

Robert Abbott, a publisher, utilized rail networks creatively to distribute “The Chicago Defender,” America’s Black Newspaper, addressing civil rights issues nationwide.
