🎨  The first piece depicts the formation of a special type of polymicrobial #biofilm called a “mini-biofilm” between C. albicans and the anaerobic bacteria C. perfringens. The second piece illustrates the life cycle and process of mature mini-biofilm formation. #SciArt 

🧑‍🎨 Gayathree is a rising junior at UTAustin studying #Microbiology and #InfectiousDiseases with a certificate in Food and Society. Gayathree joined the AiR program to integrate research interests in environmental microbiology and ecology with a passion for traditional art!

🧑‍🔬 The Nobile lab research is directed towards understanding the molecular & mechanistic bases of #microbial communities, such as #biofilms. They are studying how transcriptional networks underlie the regulation of gene expression during the development of these microbial communities
