We successfully captured a 🐉 Dragon! SpaceX’s Dragon cargo craft was successfully captured and installed at the International Space Station (ISS) on Sunday, Dec. 17. The commercial spacecraft launched on Dec. 15 carrying around 4,800 pounds of supplies and research to the orbiting laboratory. Including experiments that will study muscle atrophy, the Sun’s energy output, orbital debris and plant biology.
Station crew members Mark Vande Hei and Joe Acaba used the station's Canadarm2 robotic arm to capture Dragon, then handed command over to ground controllers to attach Dragon to the station, seen here.
Dragon is scheduled to depart the station in Jan. 2018 and return to Earth with more than 3,600 pounds of research, hardware and crew supplies.
