“For a strategic supply chain advantage, you need top-performing supplier partners”, says Tom Stevens, who joined Calix on April 12th. “Calix is entering a huge growth phase where we need partners that can grow with us,” says Tom— “providers with certain cost, availability, delivery, technology, quality, and environmental attributes.” After a 20-plus-year career spanning R&D, and manufacturing, Tom now handles the strategic management for Calix outsource design manufacturers (ODMs). “It’s a very intimate relationship, because you are designing together.” The right colleagues are also key, and Tom says the culture at Calix encourages cross-functional collaboration. “Because I’ve lived in the engineering and supply chain worlds, I am able to pivot back and forth. We’re looking for talented folks who have that kind of broad background.” Tom further explains the importance of working with others across the world at Calix. 

“There are very clever people all over,” says Tom, “and we want to collaborate with them to bring the best products to our customers.”
