Meet Mads O’Brien! 🛰 As the Senior Geospatial Analyst for #MethaneSAT, Mads and her team are creating a global map of oil and gas infrastructure locations. Mads' research and analyses help ensure we're seeing the fullest and clearest picture of global methane emissions so that we can drive the most effective solutions.

We asked Mads how she hopes to see the role of #WomenInSTEM evolving. ⬇️

My dream: As more women ascend into visible leadership roles within their scientific communities, the metric for what marks a “successful scientific leader” will change. In one’s early career, it can seem like a successful scientist is someone who has a very full plate; the fact that their time is a scarce commodity means they are successful. However, women in science, and women in many fields I think, are accustomed to lifting as we climb and making time for others. What if instead, budding scientists saw that a successful scientific leader is someone who’s whip-smart but compassionate, who never forgets to make time for people?
