Wednesday, March 30, 9:30 a.m. - 11 a.m in the First Amendment Forum and online participate in a discussion with New America Afghan Scholars. 

The Afghan Scholars program is a joint initiative launched by Future Frontlines and the Fellows programs at New America following the events of August 2021 in Afghanistan to give voice to the millions of Afghans displaced by endless war and grinding poverty. Following an in-depth review of almost 300 candidates from at-risk and in exile Afghans, six scholars were selected for a chance to augment their professional skills and networks and build their portfolio of publications.

The scholars are recently displaced Afghan nationals with a demonstrated commitment to peacebuilding, good governance, and the defense of human rights. During the eight-month initiative, the scholars will participate in a semester-long investigative journalism program where they will continue to report about Afghanistan and provide evidence-based analysis for international stakeholders.
