After 4 months of studying, learning and developing their skills at @cronkite_asu , fellows continued their path in the @humphreyfellowship program with their professional affiliations. All of them are engaged in organisations in the US, some still in Phoenix and some in other states. Today, @marinescu.delia tells her story. She is doing her PA at @slate . “During my Professional Affiliation at Slate magazine, I attend editorial meetings via Zoom, I do research and pitch stories to my great editor, Torie Bosch. Last week, I published my first article for which I talked by phone to people from Iran, Brazil, Bosnia&Herzegovina, Georgia and Sweden about the vaccination situation in their countries. One of the most interesting things for me is the way the editorial meetings for the cover story work. Usually, journalists pitch their own ideas, but here, before the meeting, people write them anonymously in a document and during the meeting, the most interesting ones are voted. The person who pitched an idea that’s chosen is anounced at the end and it’s not necessarily that the same one will write it.
