John Morton won back-to-back SCCA titles twice: In 1970-71 with a BRE Datsun 240Z, and in 1971-72 with a BRE Datsun 510.

His success cemented the brand as a maker of legitimate sports cars and a force to be reckoned with in road racing. It also ended this era of competition — no one wanted to campaign against BRE and Morton.
