At my organization Rewild, we never give up on species. This includes the Vaquita (the world’s smallest porpoise), which has avoided extinction thanks to 24/7 protection from SeaShepherdSSCS and the Mexican Navy, and the critical role of local communities in working toward Vaquita-safe seafood due to Cetacean Action Treasury pescaabc pronaturanoroeste efforts. The Vaquita is starting its recovery but to get beyond ten individual #Vaquita, the government of Mexico and its partners must double down on proven solutions for both Vaquita and the people.
