In addition to his published articles, 2021 Jenkins Medal Winner Mitchell S. Jackson is the author of Survival Math, a nonfiction book which details his upbringing in Portland, OR. 

Jackson also wrote The Residue Years, a 2013 fiction novel written from a standpoint of a young Black boy and his mother as they navigate a Black district in Portland, OR.
