We’ve all said it. •
“Must be nice to have that work schedule.”
•
“Must be nice to drive that car.”
•
“Must be nice to go on vacation.”
•
“Must be nice to have that perfect body.”
•
“Must be nice to eat at that restaurant.”
•
“Must be nice to _________.” Full in the blank. •
None of us have (typically) meant any ill intent when said. •
All of us have a lesson to learn. •
When this phrase is said to 98% of people, it comes off as one of the most inconsiderate things you can say. •
What did that person sacrifice to have that work schedule? To have that car? To go on that vacation? To have that perfect body? To eat at that restaurant? •
98% of people that have all of these “must be nice” moments have sacrificed more blood, sweat, tears, and time than the rest of us would ever realized. Some have risked more than we could imagine. Some have given decades of commitment and effort to earn that “must be nice” moment. They’ve sacrificed time with family, time with friends, worked nights and weekends, worked while on “vacations”, risked their finances, stuck to strict diets and workout routines, passed up on other opportunities, and ALWAYS taken the harder route. •
Next time you begin to think something “must be nice” stop and ask yourself what that person has sacrificed to get there. I’ll bet you won’t even be able to imagine half of it. •
We live in the Land of Opportunity. •
If you want those “must be nice” moments for yourself, get off your a$$ and make it happen.
