What do we mean by this, "Get the help you need when you feel the need?". 🤔⠀
.
What we mean is that when you feel that your physical health or mental health is not as good as it should or could be, we want you to seek help.⠀
.
You can try at-home remedies first, sure, such as improving exercise or movement, eating healthier, talking to love ones, or journaling to name a few. ⠀
.
However, if these at-home remedies are not helping you feel better, reach out to a medical doctor or mental health therapist for help. ⠀
.
If you are not feeling well physically, you would most likely schedule an appointment with your primary care physician or a physician you are able to get into, right?
.
So if you are not feeling well mentally, you should schedule an appointment with a mental health therapist of some kind! ⠀
.
There are different options whether you have insurance or not, whether you have an EAP through your employer or not, and whether you need financial assistance or not!! Financial assistance is available at many community behavioral health centers and some private centers. If you’re in college you can check with your student health center too.⠀
.
If you do not want you start with a mental health therapist you could also make an appointment with a primary care physician. They will most likely recommend psycho-therapy as first-line treatment, but if your brains cells are not working correctly and are not ‘making you happy’ in the way they are supposed to, there are medications that may help. ⠀
.
What we want you to take away from this post is that there is help to better your mental health just as there is help to better your physical health.⠀
.
Asking for help is a sign of strength not a weakness!!!! Get the help you need when you feel the need, friend.🧡⠀
