Check out today's very special Lost&Found #SundayStories! Learn more about this Lost&Found advocate Erika Tordsen!

❓Lost&Found’s mission is based on resilience, what does the word “resilience” mean to you?

Erika: “Resilience has so many meanings for me. But I like to think of it as pushing through those who doubt you and believing in yourself. I was constantly set up to fail when I got to college. Being a 1st generation student paying my own way through college without even a car, I was bound to be a failure. I jumped through so many hoops to graduate but I would do it all over again to get to where I am today. I believed in myself enough to succeed and found my self-worth along the way.”

❓ What’s something that brings joy and happiness?

Erika: “My son. When he was born, I realized what absolute true happiness is. I never thought I could love another human being as much as I love him. He (and my husband) is the light of my life and I don’t know what I’d do without him. I hope others can love anyone or anything as much as I love him.”

❓ What is something you want individuals to know who are looking for help with their mental health?

Erika: “Don’t be afraid to reach out for help. I know it’s probably easier said than done but once you do, it’ll take the weight off of your shoulders and get you going in the right direction. I also wanted to let all the new(er) moms know, it’s ok to be feeling what you’re feeling. There is a whole other side to motherhood that doesn’t get talked about much and it needs to be. We are strong and in this together, so please reach out to me, your friends and family, or your doctor if you’re feeling overwhelmed with motherhood. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and it does get better.”
