The 2006 AFL Grand Final was one of the greatest of all time.

This game had all the greats, icons & legends. O Loughlin, McVeigh, Goodes, Kennelly & Kirk on the Sydney Side 🦢. Lynch, Judd, Embley Kerr, Cox & the infamous Benny Cousins lined up for Eagles. 🦅

Coming off the 2005 Final where Swans beat the Eagles by 4 points despite Eagles having more attempts on goals, West Coast headed in looking for revenge.

Revenge was on the cards & the Eagles led by 25 points at Half time. That lead was cut to 11 points at 3/4 time. Seconds into the fourth quarter, one of the greats Adam Goodes kicked a goal bringing the game to within a goal itself. 

What followed was one of the most intense grand final 4th quarters of all time where West Coast went on to hold there lead by a point & win their first Cup since 94’.

For context - the only other grand finals decided by a point were 1966, 1947 & 1899.

You have to watch it to believe it but it’s truly  a game of Football that tells so many tales of the Glory, Heartbreak & Passion that Sport is. 🗣️💫
