Let’s address the elephant in the room! Well, two actually.

This little fella was decorated by my daughter for yesterday’s last school display evening (well, for us - she’s off to secondary in September). Ahead of the herdinthe.city family trail, it was displayed as a mini trail with all the other class elephants around the school.

We’re looking forward to finding the 46 elephants and 72 baby elephants that will be dotted around Southend-on-Sea, Leigh-on-Sea and Shoeburyness this summer holiday. If the previous Hares About Town trail is anything to go by, the artwork on some of these elephants is going to be something to see.

So the other elephant in the room? How are you going to manage your business’s social media while negotiating the school holidays? Now’s the time to get ahead with scheduling content so that you can relax and enjoy some time off.

For small business owners not looking to stretch a budget, I’m a big fan of metaforbusiness Meta Business Suite. It’s free and if you’re just an Insta and Facebook user it does the job.
For something more indepth and to cover more platforms, I’d recommend latermedia or @‌agorapulse. I don’t have any links or affiliates to them but out of all the schedulers I’ve used over the years, these two are my favourites - straightforward, user-friendly but with plenty of useful features.

So get planning and scheduling and if you’re in Essex, pop to Southend to visit the elephants!
