I thought this was supposed to be getting better. Some will tell you that we women have never had it so good - I beg to differ. This is just one of many inequalities that needs to be put right.⁠
It's sobering news if you're in your 50's. And if you're in your 30's then the advice is to get that retirement fund set up pronto. Because even though the retirement age for both men and women is now the same, "decades of a gender pay gap and the resulting wide gulf in private pension savings mean that the future retirement incomes of men and women remain far from equal".⁠
