We all know by now how powerful a tool social media is in connecting with your customers. But there may be some mistakes you're making that are undermining your business and you may be unaware you're even making them.⁠⠀

1. BE CONSISTENT⁠⠀
Social media is a long game. If you're using various platforms but only posting occasionally on them you won't grow a huge audience very quickly. You have to dedicate yourself to your customers and post regularly on each of your accounts. Show you care about them by showing up consistently.⁠⠀

2. IS YOUR CONTENT VALUABLE? ⁠⠀
What problems do your customers have and how can your business solve them? Your content should address these to keep them coming back for more.⁠⠀

3. BE AUTHENTIC⁠⠀
For every piece of content you share ask yourself "is this entertaining, educational, inspirational, or informational?" If the answer is none of these, don't share it. Your customers want to get to know the face behind the business but they don't really care about you. They care about themselves. It's not a bad thing, it's just human nature. Of course, if by revealing things about yourself you can offer any of the above points then, by all means, go ahead. But before you post a picture of your niece's birthday cake, ask yourself "is this for me or for them?" and you will always hit on true authenticity.⁠⠀
