A kid's work is never done! There I was this morning cleaning my parent's house while they're swanning around Canada on a cruise. And it made me realise that the roles have definitely reversed now. My sister and I always had to do chores around the house which I think gave us a sense of responsibility and achievement and of course taught us how to "keep house". But now, I look around my ageing parent's house and see that they need me again to help with a chore they're no longer capable of doing well. I've had to wait until they're away to do this as my Dad is, as many 84 year olds, a proud man who wouldn't want to appear as not coping. Also, if I'd tried to clean while they were home I'm pretty certain my mum would be sitting there nagging me about the bits I've missed! Still it's not something I'm able to do each wee, so if anyone knows of a reliable cleaner in the #Benfleet #LeighonSea area I'd really appreciate a recommendation. ⠀
