Have you ever bought sand back from a holiday as a souvenir?

Over the past decade, Sardinia has recovered ten tonnes of sand stolen by tourists!! The authorities at Olbia Airport carry out systematic checks on  the bags of departing travellers. Any smuggled grains are returned to the island’s beaches. White sand from the Emerald Coast is apparently a popular memento.

A #pasty cushion that says #Falmouth and a #DarlarnaHorse notelet set and Swedish Moose is about all I’ve ever bought back from holiday.
