HRT. That's the goal I'm slowly moving towards. Tonight I have another appointment. This time with... well, I'm not really sure if it's a menopause clinic or just a consultation for the Mirena coil. And this is the problem.  The communication has been hurriedly dished out in ten minute appointments at doctors along with differing advice, warnings and what I can and can't do with my body and my symptoms. One GP decided to tackle my period symptoms with other drugs. One has decided that I should go on anti depressants. Neither of them have taken into account all the other symptoms I'm experiencing, even suggesting that my debilitating fatigue could be because of waking with night sweats. The second GP had scoffed at the previous GP for refusing HRT because of migraines. She agreed with me that worsening migraines was a symptom of menopause (hurrah,😁) and then said she wouldn't give me HRT because of risk of DVT (boo, 🙁) due to a previous condition that may have been my reasons for my five miscarriages (though this was never truly confirmed and new guidelines show that patches carry less risk). So here I am, inching towards the hope of receiving HRT from yet another medical professional. ⠀

@bbcbreakfast has been great this morning because I've felt empowered to keep going until I get the answers I need. I heard about all these women who now feel great and back to their own selves and I thought (well, I cried actually) "yes, I want that for me". So off I go on my menopausal journey to yet another appointment. Fingers crossed.⠀

Please don't feel you have no options if one doctor refuses or disagrees with your right to HRT. There are other doctors and there is a wealth of information out there to help you with your decision.⠀
