3. #TruthOrDare At around the age of 13, I realized that I was gay. I saw it as a personality defect due to the fact that most around me spoke of it as such. Then, in 1991 this film came out and changed my mind. For the first time I saw gay men being celebrated and that it was ok to be who I was. Although I didn’t start ‘coming out’ until I was around 19, I never really hid those parts of me. This film gave the gay community strength. And to the baby gays who write her off because of age and the fact that she is now crusading for other groups...remember, she stood up for us when it wasn’t the cool thing to do, and took a lot of shit for it. #moviesthatmoldedme
